You had several ideas on how and where to place a new French drain, installing a new curved block wall on the lower patio  to replace the wooden wall I had put in years ago (Sharon really likes the results ) , giving us options for what turned out to be a very nice looking upper patio expansion, modifying the existing wooden stairway making it very stable and finally, replacement of the failing railroad tie wall that formed the edge of our carport with a concrete block wall.  The latter was also appreciated by our neighbor who gained a much better looking wall than before.
